KICLEI CANADA

About KICLEI Canada

Local Action. Real Impact.

At KICLEI Canada, we believe in putting local communities first. Our mission is simple:
Support Canadians in reclaiming local decision-making and resisting global programs that undermine our autonomy.

We help people across the country understand what's really behind top-down policies like the FCM-ICLEI Partners for Climate Protection (PCP), and we equip them with the tools to act locally, confidently, and strategically.

“KICLEI receives no corporate, government, or political party funding. Our work is supported entirely by private Canadian citizens through memberships, small donations, and volunteer contributions.

We have received no in-kind support from external organizations. This independence allows us to speak freely, serve communities without strings attached, and hold institutions accountable without compromise.”

Our Vision

A Canada where

  • Communities lead their own decisions

  • Resources are managed responsibly

  • Democracy is protected

  • Freedom and dignity are respected

We believe localism over globalism is key to protecting Canada’s sovereignty and future.

What We've Helped Achieve

✅ Thorold withdrew from the PCP program
✅ Challenging the claim that PCP is “free” Tiny Township initiated a PCP cost review
✅ Shocked net zero programs ignore pre-existing carbon sinks, Renfrew County requested a CO₂ sequestration report proving they’re a carbon sink
✅ Indirectly, some rural municipalities are boycotting FMC Conference or withdrawing membership due to urban-centric programming.
✅ Lethbridge reduced PCP reduction target from 40% to 20% by 2030, saving millions in carbon credit
✅ Councils across the country are receiving information for consideration in decision-making and starting to ask questions.

Let’s Keep It Simple—and Keep It Local.

If your community needs support, reach out or join an upcoming Zoom session.
Together, we can protect our rights, restore transparency, and build a future led by local voices.

Maggie is the founder of KICLEI Canada and a long-time advocate for local autonomy.

Her journey started in New Guinea, St. Lucia, and small-town Ontario—experiences that shaped her deep respect for nature, cultural preservation, and community self-sufficiency.

After studying ecosystem management, she began to question global climate narratives and uncovered how international agendas were influencing local Canadian policies without public debate.

Through KICLEI, Maggie:

  • Writes reports and resolutions for municipal councils

  • Hosts training workshops and town halls

  • Supports grassroots leaders across Canada

She believes Canada can lead the world in protecting sovereignty through local autonomy, fostering local solutions, and rejecting overreach.
